Horticulture Shed

[ visual description: in the image is the internal visual of a large shed. There are shelves covered in rattan cloth with displays of arts and crafts. There are some art pieces hanging from the roof. There are people walking in between the display shelves.]

Our big pavilion, affectionately known as the “Horticulture Shed” is our main exhibition site on the grounds. In this shed you will find Horticulture, Cooking, Fleece, Arts and Crafts.

Accessibility
This shed has a large sliding door at each end of the building- both of these can be accessed with prams/wheeled walking aides. During the show these remain open and require no assistance with opening.
The side door is not suitable for aids, due to a step into tanbark.
The ground is concrete.
The display shelves are spaced out to allow for people to move in opposite directions. There is space in between each shelf which can fit prams, wheelchairs and wheeled walkers.
In warm weather this space can become quite warm, however with all 3 doors open, it does get a slight breeze flowing through.
There is a small kitchenette in the corner for our volunteers- this has a gas stove, fridges and a sink.

Poultry Shed

[visual description: This image is inside a shed. There are large display boxes on stands. They have a wire frame, and have chickens inside. There are two people in the image- a father and a toddler. They are looking at the poultry.]

This pavilion is where you will find the “poultry” exhibits. In 2024 we will not have poultry exhibits due to the avian flu outbreak in Victoria.

Main Racecourse Building- Upstairs

The upstairs/main building on the racecourse is home to our “Needlework” displays, our community kitchen, as well as other displays. In 2024 the upper area will host the entries for the big LEGO competition. Out on the desk, there is covered seating that can be used for dining. There may be other displays.

Accessibility

The main rooms can be accessed by stairs from the front of the building- or via a small lift for those who are unable to climb the stairs.

Main Racecourse Building- downstairs

The downstairs building- labled “The Tote” is home to our “photography and arts” exhibits.
