Show day accessibility and inclusion.

Our Committee is working hard to make our big event more accessible and inclusive for all to enjoy.

This year we have made social stories, access keys as well as provide a “sensory space” for our showcomers to enjoy.

What are “access keys and social stories?”

Access Keys are a custom guide that aims to provide accurate information about accessing events. They are designed to be suitable for all people, regardless of their ability.

A social story is a tool that helps explain a social situation to someone so they can learn the socially appropriate behaviour and responses. We have created a social story to help those who have, or are providing care, to someone with a disability.

NEW IN 2024- SENSORY SPACE

Sensory Space

Please note this image is not ours, it is from the MCG website- click the image to go to their site- we have used this as an example of a sensory space.

This year we have teamed up with local disability providers to put together a space for showgoers who may have sensory sensitivities or hidden disabilities.

Keep your eyes peeled for further information regarding the space as we near Show day.
